The customer is always right.

The customer is king.
There are businesses and stores that display such slogans.
I feel uncomfortable whenever I see these slogans.
It only makes me think that the owner is extremely money-hungry.
If the customer is king, then the employee must be a servant.
If the customer is always right, then the uncomfortable employee is always wrong.
Isn't this an absurd situation?
