Life, inherently painful

Life, inherently painful.

These days, with the weather and the weight on both body and mind, even minor issues at work seem more challenging. A professor once posed a question to his students during class:

"Father has syphilis, mother has tuberculosis. Both are positive. They have four children. The first child is blind, the second died, the third is deaf, the fourth has tuberculosis. Now, the mother is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend that she undergoes an abortion?"

One bright student answered, "Certainly, she should have an abortion."

Upon hearing this response, the professor remarked, "You just killed Beethoven." This story is from Pastor Park Yo-han's "Life Cantata."

There's a saying: "People are good for a thousand days, flowers are red for a hundred days." It means that fortune may not last a thousand days, and flowers cannot stay red for a hundred days. It's okay to hold onto hope that if something bad happens, good days will eventually come. That's why adults have always maintained a serene mind without getting carried away by fleeting emotions.

In December 1914, a fire broke out in Thomas Edison's laboratory, turning it into a heap of ashes. But the 67-year-old Edison looked at the ashes and said, "All our mistakes have burned away like this. Now we can start over. Thank God." After that, Edison devoted himself to research for over 17 years, working more than 19 hours a day even after turning 80.

Boston Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Ben Zander once said, "Those who have not experienced their hearts breaking cannot play soul-stirring music." There's a German proverb: "Even if the sun shines all year round, a stone will become a desert."

Do you want to continue being happy? Are you certain you'll keep being unhappy? Who do you believe is making you happy or unhappy? Have you ever thought about being the one who does that to yourself? #Life #inherently #painful
