Gratitude in Fear
Gratitude in Fear
When I was learning to ride a two-wheeled bicycle as a child, my father held the bike from behind to prevent me from falling. Once I gained some speed, he let go. I remember riding forward for a while, then realizing my father had let go and feeling scared, causing me to fall.
"People fail because of fear."
Looking back now, however, I realize that fear was a valuable warning signal when I was about to do something risky. And as I repeated the process countless times and became familiar with it, fear quietly, silently retreated.
Thank you, fear!
